If you havn't seen this yet, this is awesome. What they're offering is a wireless charging stand for your AirPods Max. Plug in a little adaptor to the lightning port at the bottom of your headphones giving you the ability to wirelessly charge on their stand as well as the ability to charge via attaching an included magnetic USB C cable. Their kickstarter campaign just got posted. Would really like to see this one get enough funding!

I backed it. This is what should have came in the box instead of the folding diaper case. They could have just added an iPad-esque smart connector along the bottom edge and a simple drop in stand for your desk.

Always be very careful with Kickstarter projects,
There is chance you will never get the product, or, more common, months later.

I would wait, because between now and March, there will be an explosion of cases and charge stands :)

Just backed it! This looks really promising

Hoping things work out for those that back it but I am never backing these kickstater indiegogo projects again.
I'll pay MSRP if it is something I even want, if it ever makes it to retail.
Just been on the never receiving anything end , even updates, after they receive a certain amount of money.

Any project that even resembles the whole ZNAPS snafu I stay away from with a 10' pole. And for me this has that scam recipe written all over it.

Great idea but not for me. I backed a similar device for my MacBook Pro which burnt out with a crack noise.

Learned not to plug anything like this into my expensive gear ever again.

Agreed.

I have little interest in the AirPods Max, but this looks pretty cool. I am skeptical by some of the design decisions made by Apple on the APM, but was genuinely surprised they don’t support some form of wireless charging. I hope this product, the adapter, lives up to its promise.

Seems a little hard to believe. There is an induction coil large enough and an AC to DC rectifier ALL in that little Lightning plug? o_O

EDIT: After looking it appears it is NOT wireless and but uses contacts that are held together by a magnet. While a good idea a little disingenuous calling them wireless.

it's like the magsafe connector like the old MacBooks.

Oh wow Znaps I had forgot about that debacle, I backed them. It was to be my first and last participation in such endeavours. :)

Hi guys, I'm one of the creators of the Max Stand Kickstarter project. I actually generally share the carefulness about Kickstarter projects, and I have to say it feels very different to be on the other side on this one. 😂 Just wanted to say that we'll do everything to deliver the best possible stand in quality and time.

We are using the prototypes of the stand every day, and it really makes the experience with the AirPods Max so much better. Being able to simply pick up and put down your headphones without having to fiddle with a case or cable makes a big difference. Not having to think about charging is another plus.

We'll provide updates as the project progresses, it might be worth considering it at a later point in time if you are sceptical now. It's great to get any feedback in the process, any ideas are welcome! Got the point on calling it "wireless" charging, we'll see if we can describe it more accurately.

Wow never expected to see you guys post on here.
I backed your campaign, hopefully you will reach your goal well before the Feb 28th deadline.
Good luck

From a user perspective it's wireless.

I don't know how it would be possible but I'd love to see your stand incorporate a "magnetic" method to activate Ultra Low Power mode.

I’ve been buying those magnetic cables from Amazon for years. But they’re pretty unreliable. The pins constantly get damaged and stop charging. If they weren’t so gosh darn cheap and useful I’d stop buying them.

also concerned about not seeing any commitment to getting mfi certification.

totally unnecessary, as they always be charged, and a Apple charger would stop charging it when it is full.

Wouldn't the battery age much faster if they are always charged?
It shouldn’t be much different than leaving your laptop plugged in, and with 20 hours of battery life, even with some degradation over the years the headphones should still be plenty good for a full day of use.

I backed it.
Seems like a thoughtfully designed product that addresses a very specific need. I probably take my headphones on/off a half dozen times a day. Having a stand that also charges is really convenient. It's probably a little more expensive than I'd like to pay. But I've already bought the Max, so why not?

Well, that made my old MBPr 2012 last only like 30 minutes back then.
Sorry you had that experience. Never had that issue pleading mine plugged in the past but it is a reasonable concern. Seems similar to the way AirPods are always at 100% when placed in their case. (Except AirPods Pro which have the battery management feature now which in my experience is still very stingy on when it chooses to activate.)

I’m looking for something like this that will put the AirPods to sleep when placed on the stand. Does this put them to sleep?
