Hi All,

In full disclosure - I have now returned my second pair or AirPods, and purchased some Sonys instead. But I'm more interested in if this has happened to anyone else to work out why it's happening.

I had an original set of AirPods, after 18 months both microphones stopped working pretty much simultaneously (which, to me, doesn't sound like a hardware issue). Nothing I could do, however, would get the mics back. After threatening legal action, Argos finally exchanged them.

My second pair were gen 2s, and 9 months later, they have suffered exactly the same fate - no working microphone on either AirPods.

Has this happened to anyone else?
 
Yes. To me. Twice.

AP2's. First after a month of use. Then I got APP and stopped using AP2.
Gave them to a friend and he just exchanged them again.

Both times, microphone issue.
