guys - just picked up airpods from apple store and they said it's the latest version but when I look the charging light is on the inside. Isn't the one with charging light on the outside already released

The case with the charging light on the outside is for wireless charging and will be sold separately, and hasn't been released yet.

There is only one version of the Airpods available and that's the AirPods that were released in December 2016.
