AirPods - music audio incredible / call audio grainy and choppy

The AirPod audio is INCREDIBLE. Like so so great! I'm really impressed. Just got a call from my boyfriend and he said I was choppy. On my end it was kind of grainy and cutting in and out a little bit too.

Anyone else having this problem?

Anyone have any suggestions?

In my experience, choppy/grainy calls is when I forget to turn on VoLTE. Try that if you haven't done so already.

I'm on ATT. But the setting for voice and data over LTE is on.
