No. Why? Because the Airpods have been available less than a year, and Apple is going to want to absorb as much profit as possible on these. Let alone, production is finally starting to improve significantly down to two weeks or less for delivery from originally being six weeks.

If you understand the way Apple does business then you would get it. I'm not going to get into all the reasons here. Basically it would down to - Apple doesn't lower the prices on things they aren't replacing or on things that are selling like wildfire. And it just so happens that both of those things are true.

Please explain the above quote and what you mean by "Apple doesn't lower the prices on things they are not replacing." This doesn't make any sense.

We already know the popularity with the Airpods and they are not going to lower the price on these. For the amount of technology in these, $169.00 is a fair price compared to the competition prices. The Airpods will remain the same in value until version 2 debuts, somewhere perhaps in 2018. And by the time Version 2 launches, the first Generation Airpods will be discontinued.

You answered your own question. You said "The Airpods will remain the same in value until version 2 debuts, somewhere perhaps in 2018". That's exactly what my statement meant just in different words. They aren't coming out with a new version (and replacing the current version) right now or soon so they aren't going to lower the price. The things are selling like crazy. No chance they are lowering the price until they make version 2 and need to get rid of version 1.

Why would they drop the price? The only reason a company drops the price is if the product is not selling well enough. Last I checked AirPods are still selling out and there are wait lists.
