Hey everyone,

I’ve had my 1st gen AirPods Pro for more than 3 years now, and I’ve been noticing for a while that when I switch to transparency mode, it doesn’t help hearing outside sound much better, almost no difference. Also, turning the noise control to “off” makes the sound worse, almost muffled. I don’t remember it being any different in the past. Is this normal for these AirPods, or is there something I can do to fix it? Would cleaning the mesh or any other part help? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks.

Do you have adaptive mode as an option? If you do it should switch both transparency and noise cancelling on together. Just an idea that might work. Have you done a full reset on them by pressing the button on the back of the case for 15+ seconds?

I have the first gen of the AirPods Pro, so I don't have the adaptive mode as an option. Also doing a full reset doesn't seem to change anything.
