I own Apple AirPods Pro 1st gen. They have been working fine for many years, but yesterday I noticed they showed it connected to my Mac (2017 MBP 15") while still in the charging case and it was draining the battery on the AirPods. I was on a call for work and just quickly removed the AirPods from the Bluetooth settings from the Mac (Monterey 12.6.1) to deal with later.
This process removed my connection with the AirPods on all my devices, not just the Mac. Figure...no worries, I'll just repair it. Tried to pair it with my iPhone 13 Pro. It would popup up to connect and prompts me to "Hold Button"....I do that but nothing happens. It refuses to pair.
The AirPods don't show up in FindMy anymore, nor on any of my Bluetooth settings on any device. Tried doing a reset but the AirPods refuse to reset. Apple support couldn't help and wanted me to pay $90+ to replace them. These act like they are still paired but are not anymore. Any other ideas on how to allow these to pair again?

Troubleshooting I've Done:
- Reset Process of holding down the button for 30 seconds with the lid open
- Besides the green charge indicator light showing for a few seconds after opening the lid, reset doesn't show any indication of working. No light flashing amber and then white...just no light.
- Cleaned the connections in the case and fully charged to 100%.
- Power cycled my phone and cleared network settings
