I have noticed recently that the optimized charging feature on the airpods pro 2 ( lightning latest firmware) which i disabled couple weeks ago is turned on again without me manualy doing it.

I kept an eye last week and have had to disable it a couple times and seeing it activated again not long after.

Just today i had to disable it again, for the moment it is still off. Just to emphasize i am turn it fully off and not just until tomorrow.

I havent figured what triggers it, and still have to see if it does when i put it to charge

Now im wondering if anyone is experiencing this issue. If its firmware specific or if the iphone is the issue. Im at the moment with a 15 pro max in its latest OS version.

I suspect its been doing this since the begining so that means november 2023 on the back then latest firmware.

Mine (with usb C latest firmware, paired with iPhone 14) doesn’t have this issue.

My Apple Watches often re enable optimized charging on their own too (Ultra 2 and Series 9). There doesn’t seem to be a rhyme or reason to it and like you, I turn it off manually every time I notice it has turned itself back on. Usually when I want it to be charged fully when I wake up in the morning.

I’ll have to check my AirPod Pros more often now.
