I just received new pair of AirPods Pro gen 2 and they are wonderful. But I’ve noticed that for some reason when I’ve wanted to test Find My functionality it’s seems off.

- First I have only “play sound” and “directions” buttons. I thought that it will also have “find nearby” function like AirTags
- Secondly when pods are in case it seems that a sound is coming from pods itself rather than from speaker in case

Maybe they enable it in future firmware update

Disclosure: I’m using iPhone 12 mini with iOS 16.0

I can't even get my new AirPods Pro Gen 2 to show up in FindMy. I've checked and it's got the latest firmware, unpaired them and reset, restarted my iPhone, nothing.

Strangely enough when I paired them again my AirPods Pro were automatically named 'Adam's AirPods Pro - FindMy' yet they still don't show up in the app.

Definitely buggy but given the state of the iPhone 14 launch I guess it's not surprising and it'll get fixed asap.

The firmware update supposedly addressed this issue. Have you updated them yet?
My AirPods are shipped with 5A374, couldn't manage to update to 5A377 o_O

This macrumors article says there is an update 5A377, but it says 5A374 is the newest one on Apple's website when I clicked the link in AirPods setting page

Ok now they got upgraded to 5A377 but still not showing up in FindMy. Tried restarting iPhone, repairing, etc., still nothing. Anyone else having this problem?

Same here, APP2 are on 5A377, Find My shows them (with no warning) but there is no ability to do directional finding (I am in the US, Ultra Wide Band enabled, and all other Find My items work with AirTags, etc, etc), and cannot ring them, but they do show up with the “old school” coarse BT based positioning (eg they know they’re near me).

iOS 16.1 B2 on iPhone 14 Pro Max
watchOS 9.1 B2 on Watch Ultra and watchOS 9.0.1 on Watch Ultra
iPad 16.1 newest beta (whatever they’re calling it) on iPad Pro M1 12.9”
MacBook Pro 16” M1 Pro Max on latest stable iOS release (whatever it is)

Same story on all combinations of above.

Hey for those who don't see their AirPods Pro on the Find My list, I just figured out the solution: you need to go to your iCloud setting on your iPhone and enable "Find My iPhone" :D For whatever reason I always thought it was turned on... ops... Once it turned on, the new AirPods appeared immediately in the Find My app.

And after re-pairing it with iPhone, the precision finding showed up.

I have the same exact problem and another one that Airpods still remain connected to my phone after putting them in the case and closing the lid.

Update: now I have an exclamation mark next to Airpods in FindMy app.

Update2: I reset Airpods (using instructions by apple) and FindMy is fixed now.

It was not showing up for me either. Tried forgetting / re-adding a few times, which didn't resolve it. A few posts up suggested turning on "Find My iPhone" in iCloud settings, but I confirmed that it was already on. I toggled it off and then back on again, and then once more forgot / re-added the APP2, and it then showed up.

My AirPods Pro 2 were not showing in Find My either. What worked for me to (sort of) resolve it was toggling a few of the Location Service buttons as outlined in this video:

The guy talks fast, but now I see my AirPods Pro 2 on the Find My app on my iPhone and in iCloud. However, they are not showing in the Find My app on my iPad Pro or my iMac. Go figure. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Mine don’t show up in Find My either.
Tried everything. I use the latest firmware, newest iOS Version on an iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Pretty frustrating

Same here, on latest firmware for APP2, have reset, disabled Find My/reenabled, etc. Running iOS 16.1 Beta 3 on a 14 Pro Max, happens also on my wife's 14 Pro Max with 16.0.2 with her APP2 (also newest firmware).

This is a bug, because this is a launch-day feature and some people do have it.

Which iOS are you running?

My Airpods are on 5A377 and my phone is on 16.0.2.
The findmy worked great on 9/24 when I got mine.

my iPad is on 15.x and while it will connect to the APP2 for audio, the FindMy app does not even acknowledge that they exist.

My APP2 shows up in Find My on my 14PM, but not my MBP or iPP. All devices up to date. And I've used the APP2 on all devices already.

My AP(3 Gen) shows up in all my devices in Find My. So I believe it's a software issue with the APP2.

I suspect that since Mac OS and iPad OS haven’t been updated yet, they are missing something that will let them recognize and talk to the H2 chip in the APP2. We may need to wait for iPad OS 16 and Mac OS Ventura to find our Airpods.

Yes, that's why I find the AirPods Pro 2 on my iPhone running iOS 16 but I cannot on the iPad Pro and Mac...?

That makes sense, so you may be right. Are your AirPo Pro 2 showing in your iCloud.com account? Mine show on my iPhone 12 Pro running iOS 16 and icloud.com but not my iPad or iMac, both running the latest system (not betas).

Yes, mine show in icloud.com and my iPhone with iOS 16.0.2.
They do not appear to my iPad iPad OS 15.7 or my Mac with 12.6 Monterey.

The Airpods, themselves, seem to work just fine.
I think we just need to wait for iPad OS 16.x and Monterey 13 to get H2 support and track the APP2.
