First time I used new Airpods Pro 2 yesterday when traveling by subway. During the first usage I had special feelings that something is not right and I start to have headache which I never experienced with Airpods Pro gen1 and music seems little bit artifficial. So I did not pay attention so much but today I went to a gym where lound music on background was playing from spinning area and when I turned on ANC on APP2, my right ear was having something like beats/shakes/shockes which was really unpleasant. It seems that adaptive ANC tried to adjust to the loud music in gym but it did not work well. It was really bad and I had never problem like this with APP1. I tried to turn off the adaptive function and it helps but still some beats from one ear continnue to annoy me so I went to transparent mode which was without problem.

So I start to thing to return APP2 and buying new APP1 (I gave to my girlfriend previous one) because APP1 were great and I had never any problems or headaches from headphones.

I think that Airpods Pro 2 use too much artifficial intelligence which makes sound quite plastic and sone digital noise behind.
I am going to this gym 3x week so it has to work correctly..

Does anyine notice some simillar issue?

Interesting. The gym environment does have a variety of sounds going on - music & the clanging of weights so the new Adaptive Transparency would need to adjust constantly. I only have the Gen 1 APP, so am curious if others also notice this with the Gen 2.

Personally, I always have Noise Cancellation on in the gym & only turn on Transparency when chatting, so I don’t see it being a problem for me.

So. I have full ANC in at the gym. It works so well it actually felt weird because it was so quiet.

Use I have done no research into the features of the APP2 However, I noticed in noise canceling mode, if you touch the earbud either side, it goes into transparency mode and then when you stop touching it, it goes back to noise canceling.

As I wrote the problem is with Noise Cancellation. Transparency is okay.

Oh, I totally thought you were referring to Adaptive Transparency because of the “Adaptive”.

I don’t recall the Noise Cancellation also being ‘Adaptive’ in the APP2?

I have the same issue sounds like. When in a car or at the gym, the adaptive noise cancellation will adjust differently between left and right side. It’s as if more sound is coming out of one ear bud for awhile, then after a period of time, the sound will equalize between the two ear buds again. I’ve called Apple about this and they say it’s the first they heard of it. It’s so bad I just went and bought the Bose qc ii and they work perfect.

I tried again and last training in the same gym it was okay. I think it can be fixed by software.
Anyway I am going to replace them. Sometimes there are connection issues so I will try new one if it will be better.

I returned my 3rd pair today. I’m on the 4th pair of AirPod pro (2nd generation). So far so good, there is a noticeable difference for the better with these. Not sure if they sent out another update, but still showing the 5A377 firmware version. Apple is usually good about fixing things like this, so here is to hoping it’s fixed!

I have a post here that could be related. You wouldn’t think there’d be appreciable variance in AirPods manufacturing, but that might explain some of the weird reviewer dissonance (ANC is incredibly better! vs. No, it’s not!) as well as the anecdotes of customers like us now that they’re generally available. Wonder if I should exchange mine and just see 🤔

This…is not a thing. Unless you have some special firmware that no one else does.
I just spoke with Apple about this. They said no other users have had any of these issues. I told them there is an article Forbes just put out on Oct. 13th in regards to this Audio drift

I don’t know why I would have special firmware.

It is no longer doing what I was describing and the spatial goofiness ske have described seems to have gone away. Maybe they updated.
