AirPods Pro 2 iOS 18.6.1 issue

AirPods Pro 2 keep breaking up and distorting audio since updating to iOS 18.6.1. Anyone else notice this?

No. Maybe it's your Bluetooth. Have you tried cycling it off and on? Restarting the phone?

Yes even forgot airpods, reset airpods, and reconnected

Same issue with mine. Rebooted phone, removed AirPods added them back in and same issue.

No issues with my AirPods Pro 2 model A2698. Perhaps it’s an issue with a specific model?


Is the problem with all audio? Apple Music vs YouTube in a web browser? Is it at a certain volume? Do you have the default audio settings?

Music and phone. All audio. Breaks up every couple minutes and sounds distorted. Brand new airpods pro 2

I've listened through my Air Pods Pro 2 for two separate 2-hour sessions since installing iOS 18.6.1.
No issues here for me.

I use mine almost exclusively with TV. A couple of tvOS 26 betas ago, they had some garbled sound, but have doing better in the last couple of weeks. I know this may not help because I’m not on a fully released OS, But thought I’d share.

Reporting back:
No issues on AirPods Gen 3 connected to 14 Pro on 18.6.1

Think latest Oura ring update may actually be causing the issue.

Update today (18.6.2) completely resolved this issue.

Unfortunately issue is still present.

I updated to 26 beta and issue seems to have been fixed completely. I think there is some regression of bluetooth on both 18.6.1 and 18.6.2 that may have been only affecting a small group of people with multiple or specific bluetooth devices connected in tandem.
