Hi All,
Have had my AirPods Pro 2 since release and have mostly been happy with them. The past couple of days the battery on the right AirPod was having an issue charging in the case. I would have to put it back in the case a few times before it would actually start charging.

I figured it was possibly a little dirty so I cleaned the contacts on the AirPods and in the case with a q-tip dipped in isopropyl alcohol. That didn’t seem to make a difference.

Next I ended up unpairing the device from my phone (which of course unpairs it from my iCloud account and all my devices). Now I am running into an issue where the AirPods will not repair with my phone (or any of my devices). The led flashes amber and when I hold the button in the back for 15 seconds it continues to flash amber and I hear three quick beeps.

When I open the case near my phone I get the message “Not your AirPods Pro.” I click connect on that message. It informs me that I should hold the button on the back and nothing happens. Basically these are now junk. I have an appointment for the Genius Bar but thought maybe someone out there knows the magic incantation to get these things back to life.

Thanks.

I haven't had that happen but I've always wondered if someone else could accidently claim/pair your AirPods to their phone when they are in discovery mode.

When I opened my case for the first time at work, 2 nearby coworkers received a pop up to set them up at the same time as I did.

In this case I am at home with no one possibly around for that to happen. That would be an interesting case though.

Do you live in a apartment? I know the hardware is supposed to know what products are within close proximity but when that happened to me the 2nd coworker was at least 50ft away.

Recently I had to restrict AirPlay on both my Apple TV's to wifi only because neighbors kept accidently trying to cast to them.

Try resetting the APP. Put them in the case and close the lid, press and hold th button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds (light will blink or glow orange then back to white). That should factory reset the AirPodS. Then proceed to repair Hopefully that will work

How long should airpods pro 2 take to fully charge out of the box? Do they need to be paired first? I put my new Airpods Pro 2 on the charger at 715pm CST yesterday and the charge indicator is still amber this morning. I bought two pairs, one for me and one for my wife.

I'm not sure it's necessary, but I would suggest that you pair them first. I did the same as you because I wanted to charge them so that as soon as I paired them, they'd be full. The charging was taking FOREVER. Once I paired them with my phone they charged at a reasonable pace.

Thanks very much for the quick response. I will give it a try when I get home. Apple Customer Service also gave me trouble shooting steps to reset them. Just thought it was odd to have the same issue on both pairs.

It appears to have worked. Admittedly, after 22 hours, the Airpods Pro 2 case was 100% charged while the Airpods Pro 2 were 75% charged. After the pairing, it took very little time to get both the Airpods Pro 2 and the case fully charged.

I've had issues wirelessly charging my APP 2 using the magsafe charger. The case will get very warm but won't actually charge. Wired charging works ok, as does charging it using the Apple Watch charging puck, just not with magsafe. Any ideas?

No issues of a MagSafe charger to be honest. It’s an official Apple MagSafe charger. It makes a little chime noise when I place the case on the charger away it goes.

Very good! Enjoy them!
