I just recently got new AirPods Pro 2 with MagSafe Charge Case (USB-C). My MagSafe Charging Case definitely has a USB-C port yet the model number imprinted in the case is A2968 and the Apple Support site identifies model A2968 as the MagSafe Charging Case (Lightning) introduced in 2022. But there is no mistaking a Lightning port for a USB-C port. Trust me. I checked just to make sure...
My left earbud model number is A3048 and the right earbud model number is A3047. The Apple Support site indicates those model numbers are associated with the USB-C case introduced in 2023. My iPhone identifies my AirPods Pro as Model A3048 which is ultimately the correct answer (or if I put the right earbud in first my iPhone identifies Model A3047 which is again the correct answer). So maybe this is no big deal?
