Hi,

A few weeks back I got new AirPods Pro 2, and I've been reading it's possible to add a "leave behind" notification in the Find Me app. However I don't see that option for the AirPods (while I do see this and have it working for e.g. an iPad). I tried to reset the AirPods and freshly add them to the iPhone but still no option. (The iPhone is an 11 Pro with the latest iOS.)

Anything I'm missing? Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks

I just thought I check in to see if anyone else has had this problem or a solution? I'm not seeing the option to get "left behind" alerts for the AirPods Pro 2. Latest version of iOS...

You probably have Find My Network disabled for your AirPods. Go in iPhone Bluetooth settings and enable it.

Thanks!

I can see them in the Find Me app, and also play a sound etc. But I don't have the option to turn on Notifications for Leave Behind which I understood should be working. (I have this working for my iPad without problems.)

I've removed the AirPods and connected them again to the iPhone, but that didn't change anything.

I don't have this option either. I can turn it on or off for my Mac, but I can't see it for my AirPods Pro 2.
Find My is working, it's showing me where my AirPods Pro are, and can cause them to make a sound, but the left behind option is missing.

That's exactly how it looks for me. No problem to perform all the other Find Me things with the AirPods, just not an option for Leave Behind. (And yes, these are the new AirPods Pro 2, and iOS on latest 16.3.)

Same here, 16.3 and second generation AP Pro. It could be a bug in 16.3. We'll see if they fix it the next update.
I bought my AirPods Pro after the release of 16.3, so I don't know if this would have worked before the update.

Well, this support document from Apple suggest that it should work. And there's reports on webpages that other people have gotten it to work - really strange.

I have AirPods 3 and AirPods Pro 2 and both are showing the option for me. I am on 16.3 RC.

I had the same situation, until I figured out that that option (leave behind notifications for Airpods Pro) are avaiable only for iPhone 12 and newer models.

Why? no idea

That would explain it - I'm on an 11 Pro.

But really? I mean, leave behind for an iPad works on the 11 Pro.

Strangely, I just noticed that on my iPad (2019 Pro model), a "Leave behind" notification is active for the AirPods Pro 2 with reference device and notifications going to the iPhone 11 Pro. I turned that off but that didn't enable any setting on the iPhone. (Also, I actually never got any notifications anyways.)

Indeed, it seems to require a more recent phone model. Previously, when the feature wasn't working, I was on a 2nd generation iPhone SE. Yesterday I replaced it with a 3rd generation SE, and lo and behold, when I left home this morning I received a notification that my AirPods Pro had been left behind.
I checked the Find My app. The option is now present:

It's strange, because I don't really see why this feature should require any special hardware that slightly older iPhones may not have.

Probably related to the use of the most recent U1 chips for location purposes.
