Heads up: the APP2 are on sale at Best Buy, Target, Amazon, and probably others for $200. I think that’s as low as they’ll go for a while. It’s a pretty decent price for the improvements over APP1.

Yes, tempting. I ordered a pair from Amazon a couple weeks ago for $235 and was super conflicted about keeping them. Gen 2 is really a perfect update with improvements to every aspect of the product - ANC and sound quality are significant improvements, volume controls, Find My, longer battery life, and lower latency.

However, it was hard to justify spending $235 when my gen 1s work fine, when I got the buds replaced for free this year due to rattlegate, when I own AirPods Max, and when I can’t really sell my gen 1s for much, so I returned them. This discount would save me about $45 if I bought these compared to when I bought them before, but I’d still be spending $200 on headphones when I already have gen 1s that work fine and AirPods Max for when I need better sound quality and ANC. Hmm… decisions, decisions.

How much better is sound quality for gen2 air pod pro vs 1?

just picked up a pair, probably will audition them later this evening

IMO they are significantly improved. 200 is probably fair. 150 would be better but APP1 are close to that 3 years later.

Isn’t apple offering $75 on Black Friday?

(Gift card)

Yeah I just saw that. Suppose that’s a slightly better deal if you plan on buying another Apple product in the near to medium term.

Think it’s $75 GC for AirPods Max and $50 for AirPods Pro. At least that’s what I’m seeing on Apple’s website?

Costco price now $200 as well. Suggest buying from there if you’re a member for the great return policy.

I really like the low end bass on the Gen 2s over the 1. Out of the box, the Gen 2s may not sound good for the first couple of hours..then they great really good!

Now, I use the Gen 1s with my Pixel and the Gen 2s with the iPhone!
