Question for the community.

I have the airpods pro 2 in noise cancellation mode, then when I answer a call it slightly shifts to transparency mode. It's neither full transparency mode nor is it full ACN. Is this a bug or a feature?

If I cycle between transparency and ACN while on the call, they will return to full ACN. It's a super strange behavior.

I get that on my left AirPods too. I took them to the Apple Store and they ran tests on it but didn't find anything out of the ordinary. They suggest it might be a software bug and hopefully, the new firmware that came out today fixes it.

I also posted this exact same thread with the exact same issue a while back on here. Basically got very few responses I think but just wanted to let you know it happens to me too and it drives me insane.

I've noticed this same type of thing occurring with the airpods pro 2.

When I join a Microsoft Teams or Zoom call and have ANC enabled, the noise cancelling effect wavers in and out, and I'm able to hear background noises and people talking.

I've discovered a work-around to fix this:
1. After joining the call, swipe down from the top right corner into the control screen that shows the volume slider with the airpods icon.
2. Tap and hold on the volume slider to pull up the airpods sub menu below.
3. Click on the Noise Control button.
4. Toggle from "Noise Cancellation" mode to "Transparency" mode.
5. Toggle BACK to "Noise Cancellation" mode.
6. ANC now works like it is supposed to work.
