I just received APP2. Everything works fine except the volume adjustment. It doesn’t work. Sometimes it catches the finger going up/down but the most of times anything happens.

Suggestions?

Ok, after some tests I found that the best way to have nearly 100% of success is sliding the finger to the border. When it works it gives also an haptic feedback.

Sorry you're having issues but, just for the sake of balance, I thought I should say I received mine this morning too. No problems with volume adjustment here. A tiny swipe on the flat part of either bud seems to work just fine.
Agree. It took a minute to get it but it really is simple. Just stroke up repeated to raise the volume and down repeatedly to lower it. Just a single stroke might not change enough to be noticeable.

You also need to hold onto the back I believe. it’s like a squeeze and swipe

The volume adjustment was not working on mine, either. I'm using an iPhone X and I was still on iOS 14.8.1. I updated the phone to iOS 16.0.2 and the volume controls are now working.

I think you are swiping on the wrong spot. Swipe on the flat surface where you squeeze for play/pause. Works for me every time.

Not a fan of this one. It moves the airpods and hen you have to readjust. I never cared to control volume from them. I look forward in next update in which we can turn this feature off.

I also was having issues adjusting the volume by using the touchpad on my new AirPods Pro 2. This morning, I stumbled upon what appears to be a rather simple fix that makes volume adjustment a lot easier. To lower the volume, swipe down from the middle of the touchpad all the way down to the edge of the touchpad, where there’s a noticeable ridge on the stem immediately where the touchpad ends. To raise the volume, swipe from the middle of the touchpad to the top, until you touch the top ridge on the stem.

I just put a thumb behind the stem and gently swipe up or down on the flat part of the stem. The volume goes up or down with the direction. I sometimes need to swipe again if I wanted a larger change in volume. Because I have a thumb stabilizing the stem, nothing moves and the Airpods stay in place. The only risk is if you use too much pressure you might trigger the anc/transparency toggle. Just use a light touch and you should be fine. Give it a try a few more times to get used to it before you declare it unworkable.

Having problems as well. I could complain about it but why? I bought the darn things. Other than the volume adjust they sound good to me and I am good with it. Cheers!

The space to swipe to do volume control is pretty small. I've found it only takes a light touch, but it may take a little practice to get the movement right in such a small area. It can take multiple strokes to do a large change in volume. You don't want to blast your ears by accident so it takes a bit to really crank up the volume. I would expect that after using it for a few days you might find it working better for you.

I just got a pair from the Apple Store this afternoon and I was having issues but found if I use my thumb and index finger and (very) lightly pinch the stem as I slide up or down the volume is a lot more consistent.

You can use your thumb behind the stem to stabilize it but you only need to use a light touch on the flat area as you move up and down to increase/decrease the volume. If you press too hard you’ll trigger the transparency mode toggle.

Same here I just updated to 16.0.2 and it made a big difference. Before updating it, it required a lot of repeated attempts to get the volume settings to work. Now after the update, it works more consistently.

Vol control was only issue on mine. Seems ok after a few days practicing it. Improved by sliding finger from the round end of tip slowly up to beyond top of flat bit
good sounds min a slick firmp

I found moving your finger fast works. I was trying it slowly like you would move a slider but I don’t think that’s the way to do it.
