Hello!

My father loves playing the piano, but he can't do it much now because it's too loud for him, I'd love to buy him a good electronic piano but it's too expensive for us.

Would the new airpods pro 2nd generation transparency mode work to lower the noise of the real piano in life but still hear it? Like, just putting them on, not play any music, but use them with transparency mode and let it lower the volume.

Thanks, he does have what I would call construction headphones, but they are either not enough or just too tight for him.

Somewhere over the rainbow
There are several brands of earplugs made specifically for musicians. Some are even custom-made to the person's ear canals. They lower the volume to a level that isn't harmful but still allow enough sound to get through. If he needs more than that, simple foam earplugs of the kind you can buy cheaply at the pharmacy cut out quite a bit of sound.
