Only caught an AirPods Pro Add this morning.
Managed to drop a pair via AR onto table..
249 u.k. cost inc' engraving.
What are the benefits whilst comparing to existing old school AirPods+Wireless Charging Case.

Noise cancellation, they will fit better into your ears, they are sweat and water resistant and they will sound better.

Any thoughts on how these might compare to the Sony in-ear wf mx1000s (or whatever the name is). Recently got thos but tempted to try these also ?

I would try before you buy, simply because headphones that offer noise cancellation will be far better then an ear bud design.
I definitely wouldn't expect the ANC here to be at the same level as a good pair of NC cans, but the WF-1000MX3 buds by Sony do a stellar job at NC for a tiny package. If these AirPods Pro can do as good of a job as those, then I think most will be pleased. I just think the fit is bad on the Sony's.

My biggest issue with the original airpods and the reason I returned them was a lack of isolation as well as noise leakage. I don't necessarily need the active noise cancellation but certainly a handy feature for the likes commuting.

I have the original air pods. They fall out of my ear. I am definitely going buy these, but only after I read user reviews here. Not in a hurry.

do you think that you can activate the noise cancellation even without the music playing? There are many situation it could be useful :)

Yes, that's possible. However, I've read earlier that the Airpods produce a strange sound from time to time when no music is playing and ANC is on, so this might be off-putting (or something that can be fixed by a firmware update).

I enjoy music during 1 hour gym plan.
Though the environment can get noisy during milder months.
Noise Cancellation could possibly help.
Coincidence that I have Avaya noise cancelling Bluetooth headset on order with employers.

I would be willing to bet they are the best sounding Airpods ever, but I doubt they will sound as good as the Sonys, those sound incredible. Got those almost a month, and won't use anything else. Even have the WH MX1000 version 3 Around Ear headphones (best ever IMO), and I use the in ear more.

That being said, the Airpods will always be more seamless with an iPhone than anything.
