My wife and I both have AirPods Pro. My wife and I also have a son that loves taking the earbuds out of their respective cases to play with them without us knowing. So far he hasn’t caused a mixup of which set goes where, but I’m sure it’s just a matter of time until one of my earbuds ends up in my wife’s case. Is there any way to differentiate the two pairs from each other? I know there are wraps/cases for the AirPods case, but is there anything for the earbuds themselves that still allows them to go into the case without issue?

I think AirPods should be kept out of reach of toddlers. They present a choking hazard. Your “problem” is therefore solved by not letting your toddler play with them.

They grow so fast we forget... he’s no longer a toddler and the days of him putting things in his mouth are long gone. I’ve corrected the post.
Back to the original question though... any thoughts or suggestions to avoid a mixup?

Check which device they connect to? Assuming you don’t have each other’s paired to both your phones?

Hello K4VKS,

Perhaps mark the inside of the silicone tips with a Sharpie? (Haven't done this myself, but it's what I'd try. I'd test first on a tip that isn't a good fit.)

Best,
KM

You should test them by swapping them & seeing how the device detects transposed AirPods.

Think one move ahead of your kid 😏
