I am absolutely loving my AirPods Pro. They are extremely comfortable, which was a big worry of mine. The medium tips are fitting great. The noise cancellation is extremely impressive for an earbud. I feel like they would work quite well on an airplane. Hell, even my regular AirPods were audible on a plane which surprised me.
The actual sound quality does sound thumpier and marginally better, but not night and day. Honestly AirPods have always sounded good enough for me and the AirPods Pro do sound noticeably betterThe case is a little bigger than expected but still fits perfectly in my jean’s watch pocket which is my go to place for them.
The integration with iOS is really really cool. I love the little tutorial that was shown and the audio test. I also love all the ways in which I can turn on noise cancellation or transparency. iPhone force touch on the control center volume bar, long press on the stem, or from my Apple Watch.
I’ve already had a chance to use them at the gym and yep, they block out almost ALL noise very well, and they are incredibly snug fitting. No way would they fall out of my ear. It’s great that Apple created an earbud so well fitting yet still comfortable.
visually I think they look better too. The stem is almost half the length it seems, and I love the more angular look of them. They look like a brand new kinda product and look less “goofy” than the original AirPods.
AirPods are certainly an “A” in many categories. Some products might be an A+ in this area or that area, but AirPods are just great across the board. Considering portability, sound quality, IP rating, charging options, look, comfort, integration with iOS etc. The only legitimate gripe I can think of is cost, but as often as I used my previous AirPods and as often as I’ll use these, its well worth it. If only the Nintendo Switch had Bluetooth FFS that would be an awesome combo. These are going to be a killer product for Apple for months to come.
Great job Apple!
