I am using the new AirPods Pro G2 with my work iMac Pro. Maxed out. At times the Bluetooth connectivity is absolutely terrible. The LR sync will pop off and the buds will be off. I need to take them out of my ears and re seat them to correct it.

At times when I render Premiere Pro projects the bluetooth will crackle, jump and lose sync with the screen. Super intermittent, but consistently happens every day.

Anyone had a similar issue? They sound great and I am super happy with them overall but I DO NOT have this issue with my Gen 1 Pros.

I have had similar issues with my original AirPods, my AirPods Pro and my new AirPods Max. I finally figured out that it seems to be caused by having my iPhone nearby. I turned off the Bluetooth on my iPhone and they all work great.

I could see this. It hasn't been a problem for the last 2 years in my environment, but I did also upgrade my 12 Pro Max to the 14 Pro Max. So maybe the phone is actually causing the issues...

Same thing with my PC and two different transmitters, which work perfectly with my APM, 2nd gen AirPods, and the plethora of other headphones and earbuds I have. I'm hopeful it's a firmware thing, because my APP2 are capable of working fine until the battery goes, though it's rare. Sometimes they work fine for a couple of hours, and then all of a sudden, they start glitching out and never recover by themselves. Sometimes they screw up right when the connection is established. Then I have to return them to their case, sometimes more than once.

I am going to walk back my earlier report on turning off the iPhone bluetooth. While it seemed to work better for a couple days the issues with the audio cutting out reappeared. I wonder if it is related to something else, such as the other PC on the desk or the kid's iPhones (which are on a different iCloud account).

Most of the time this issue occurs is when I am watching Youtube or Apple TV on the Mac. Interestingly it seems if I pause the video for a second and restart it the audio fixes itself, at least for a while.

EDIT:

Scratch the Watch possibility... The glitches came up an hour or so after turning off the WiFi on both the phone and Watch.

I noticed that the mouse (BT connected MX Master 3) was glitchy at the same time. I connected to the iPhone with the AirPods Max and they worked fine. (Same with the other AirPods).

This all indicates to me that it is an issue with the Mac more than the AirPods Max. This was the same thing with my prior Mac Mini's (both the Intel and M1 versions).

(Old message):
I am thinking now my issue may have been with my Apple Watch. I was still having issues even when I turned off bluetooth. I tried turning off bluetooth on my Watch and have not yet had issues, all other stuff being equal. I will keep the Watch off for a day or two and see what happens.

If others with this issue have a Watch try turning it iff to see if the problem goes away.
