Just setup a brand new set of APP2 which I got mainly because of the new "volume slider stem" feature. Well, mine doesn't have that feature. Googling around I see it needs to be enabled under Bluetooth/AirPods Pro/Accessibility\Volume Slider. Well I DO NOT have that option. I have fully reset multiple times with no luck. The firmware is not the most recent so I am wondering if that was added recently. I am on 5A377. I tried a "support chat" and what a fiasco. The guy was so deep in his "scripts" he was lost in the forest. He kept telling me there is no such feature and to "prove" it he kept sending me links to the original AirPods 2 (not Pro)spec. I kept telling him it was APP2 but he just ignored me. FInally, I just gave up with him and disconnected.

Anyway, anyone else had (or have) this issue? Is it firmware?

The latest firmware is 5B58, so you're not up to date. Wait for them to update, then check again. Also, confirm you're using iOS 16.3.

Yea, 16.3 ... been waiting for firmware update for 2 days but these were originally advertised with the volume slider so it's strange they don't exist out of the box. Tried all the "force update" gimmicks but none worked. Guess I'll have to have more patience. :) Hopefully that's it. I have AC+ so I'm not concerned.

Just curious and I don’t mean to be rude, but have you looked a YouTube video on how to use the volume slider when the AirPods are in your ears? It’s a very subtle swiping gesture on the stem.

The issue isn't so much HOW to use it (yes, I know how) but the fact there is supposed to be an enable/disable switch under the APP2's settings/accessibility (also found on YouTube as well as Apple's support pages) which isn't there. I am guessing it is disabled.

I received my APP 2 on launch day and never had an issue with the volume swipe. Never had to enable it so I was just checking off another box for you, that’s all.

If only the Apple devs added a "check for firmware update" button in the settings, then life would be so much better...

Or at least release a free App that does it...

I bought brand new APP2 from FB marketplace a month ago. Never had to activate in settings, volume control works flawlessly. I still have 4 days to purchase AC+.
