Hi,

I just got the AirPods Pro, my first pair of any AirPods. Is it normal that after about 20 minutes, the AirPods lose ten-percent of its battery life with both noise cancelling and transparency off?

Thanks in advance.

10% drop or life remaining? Batteries in the case and AirPods should have had some charge from the manufacturer but it's never at 100%. Experiencing abnormal battery drain, then ensure the device you're using them with meets the requirements, hard reset the AirPods, and allow 2-3 charging cycles before more accurate estimations of battery life are displayed. If you're still experiencing it after this, then return/replace them. Either way, welcome to the world of the H1 software/hardware bugs.

10% drop in battery charge. They were fully charged before. I just unpaired and reset my AirPods, so perhaps this will resolve the issue.

The percentages are an approximation. If you were using the mic, Siri always on & listening, skipping tracks, volume level, or activating Siri quite a bit, distance from source, then the loss may be about correct. If you lost 10% in 20 minutes on mid-level or lower volume with Siri (always on) turned off, and only audio playing with no activation of mic, and close to the source, then I'd have a cause of some concern.

Thank you for all of your input; I really appreciate it. I’m used to my Bose SoundSport Free earbuds, where it drops in increments of 20% after a good hour, so I’m not sure what to expect with AirPods. And yes; I’m one of those obnoxious people who skips around tracks! I leave Siri (always on) on as well.

The information on their support page may be of use to you.

Charge your AirPods and learn more about battery life

Your drainage is on par with mine, even with ANC activated.

What volume % do you normally use?
I think Apple’s battery usage guide is tied to xx% volume used while listening and with ANC <ON>.

I usually have my volume at 50% or the setting just below that.
