AirPods Pro lower maximum volume on MacBook Air

So I recently purchased a 2020 MacBook Air and immediately noticed that my AirPods Pros have a lower maximum volume level when paired with the laptop as compared to being paired with my iPhone X. Is this normal behavior? If not, any suggestions on a fix?

What's your audio source? It it's Music, remember that there are two volume controls in series--one in the app plus the one that controls system volume.
