Airpods Pro Microphone Issue - Stops working after 2 weeks

I've bought 4 Airpods Pros in the last 3 months. All had the same issue. 3 Airpods Pro 2s and 1 Airpods Pro 2 USB C.

The weird thing is the mic works pefectly for voice memos but not for anything else. (Zoom, Phone calls, etc). This would leave me to believe it is a software bug that apple hasnt fixed in over 3-4 months.

Apple Reps acknowkedge the issue is widespread but have not issued a recall.
 
Thanks for this info, I have yet another excuse for not springing for a set of Airpod Pro's. I have used FiiO BlueTooth DAC/Amps for years using my Eytmōtic ER4SR's or Shure SE-425's. I will wait a bit longer.
