I got a new pair of AirPods Pro a couple of days ago. The Pods last up to 4,5 hours with ANC so I was quite satisfied with them at first.

But then I noticed that the charging case’s battery was draining throughout the night. I started periodically monitoring the case the next day and realized the case would not drain when I had the AirPods in my ears. Which made me suspect it could be the Pods that were draining the battery even when they were not in use.

To confirm my suspicion I drained the case’s battery down to 1% and placed the AirPods in them. They were still paired to my iPad, iPhone and MacBook but I turned off the bluetooth on these devices to make sure they were not somehow still connected. And I was right! They seem to be awake/never go idle and drain battery even when they are stored inside the case. I lost around 13% in 12 hours. In addition, they seem to still pair with my devices without having to be taken out of the case. Once I open the lid and wait a few seconds, they pair immediately.

I will reset, unpair and fully recharge once my Pods run out of battery but I wanted to ask you guys first. Has anyone experienced a similar problem? How does one go about fixing this?

PS: I don’t think it’s that software problem that causes Pods to show the wrong percentages - the Pods are consistently on the same battery level. And the pairing issue is unique to this case.
