About half of the time, maybe more, when I first put them in, only one of them will activate. I have to take them out, put them back into the case, then take them out and reinsert them. Usually they both work after doing that.

I've tried putting in right left one first, the right one first or both at the same time. I have the same issue.

Anybody else dealing with this or can anybody explain how I'm putting them in my ears wrong?

Aside from this annoyance, I LOVE them! I've never had ANC headphones before so I find it amazing. I find them pretty comfortable, too!

When it happens, are you transferring from a car (or non-IOS) bluetooth connection to your iPhone (IOS)?

I found this usually happens when I go from a factory bluetooth connection in the car to my iPhone.

The AirPods never connect to anything except my phone. It's possible it happens when my phone has previously connected to something else, but I don't think it's only then. It definitely happens the first time I put them on in the morning (or whenever I first put them on). Usually after the first time I can take them out and back in and they work, as long as I don't put them back in the case.

Not really a solution, but try to bring up the battery pop-up on the IOS device before taking them out of the case & using them.

This seems to have solved the problem. It's annoying, but less annoying than the alternative, so I guess I'll have to go with it.

I had this and after around a week of speaking to Apple support and going through lots of possible solutions they sent me a new right AirPod pro out which solved the problem.

Just wanted to say I think this is fixed, probably with the firmware update. I haven't had this issue in a few days.
