“So, hows the food?” “It tastes awesome!” “I had to vomit, I hate spinach!”
I fully understand your question, but it is a subjective one. People that use the original AirPods and never tried anything in-ear, probably will notice a huge improvement, as the seal is much better and that’s what noise cancelling does. I probably will be one of them tomorrow.
People who already use in-ears like Sony, might say the Sony is much better. People who have a bad seal, will say the new AirPods are horrible.
And some are not audiophile and can’t even tell the difference. Audio is really subjective. I have seen a lot of radiostations hanging a Neumann mic in their studio. I bought one too. Been fiddling with it for a year, still don’t like the sound. We ended up rolling back to Rode.
What do you think why some radiostations sound ‘bad’, whilst others sound ‘great’? Believe me, I know enough professionals who enjoy having a lot of bass in their music. I personally don’t, I like a more natural sound. There is no standard of ‘great audio’. Yes, there are technical specs. Still doesn’t say anything about ones opinion.
If you want to know it, order some and try them. If you are disappointed, return them. Normally I don’t give that advice as it would be an abuse of the generous return policy. But sound is very personal.
