Hi,

I've noticed that whenever I switch to either ANC or transparency mode, I get this strange windy, static noise in both of my Airpods when there's no music playing. This isn't apparent in the 'off' mode. I've reset them a few times and cleaned the tips etc but same problem. Does anybody else have this problem? I'm looking to get them replaced.

I had the same issue last week. Contacted Apple Support and they shipped me a replacement left AirPod Pro in less than 24 hours.

The symptom that seemed to seal the deal while discussing the problem was that it still made the cracking sound even when I wasn’t playing audio, just had the AirPods in and had noise cancellation or transparency on.

This was, however, before the firmware update that may have addressed the problem this week.

Thanks for your reply.

I’ve requested replacements for both left and right Airpods, should be with me tomorrow. Did the replacement fix your issue?
