Anyone else having an issue with intermittent sound that is almost like static or popping you'd hear from a radio station when the signal isn't great, when listening through your AirPods Pro?

I don't know when it started, I don't really hear it when listening to music (possible the music is just drowning it out), but def on podcasts. It is not the podcast itself, because if I listen through the phone or through bluetooth on my car, I don't hear it. It's really annoying.

I had the pair I bought yesterday replaced today because of just that issue with the left AirPod. I'll need to test the new ones properly but I won't be happy if it's the same.

They ordered me new buds. They had a right in stock but not a left. Incidentally, the podcast I was going to use to show them as an example, did not make the same popping noises it did the other day (it was def in the same spot in the podcast where it was doing it through the APP but not through my car audio and not when listening on the phone), so the issue appears to be intermittent.

Same issues with mine, seems that it’s intermittent but happens every time on conference calls. Swapped twice now and eventually issue came back even with the older firmware

Copy and pasted from another similar thread.

Had similar issues first with the left then the right. I believed it was the os update. Called support once and they kept me going w/ the same three or four questions and two reps for 1.5 hours. They then moved me to iPhone support and an actual call, I was chatting w/ the two reps. I was done and declined. Was going to just return them to BestBuy but were out of the return window. I assumed it would be extended a bit as it was a Christmas present, but was not. My wife, tired of hearing me complain, called Apple support and got them to replace both units. New units work excellent. Waiting for them to fail or update.

Original Christmas gift version worked great. Easily created a 'Good Seal' according to the Tip Fit Test. Then one day when I took my first phone call I heard the left ear "crackle". I described it to support as "clipping", a term often used in the stereo field do describe a failing or underpowered but over volumed speaker. Soon after, the right ear started and I could do it on command by merely speaking sharply. Then Siri became fickle. Not every time and I thought it was my hoodie on my jacket causing issues. I decided to attempt the Tip Fit Test and couldn't get either ear to create a "Good Seal" consistently. Like one in ten attempts and never both ears at the same time. I tried all the sizes again many times. All this was w/ NC or Transparency on. So, they became an overpriced version of the originals and very annoying in either active mode.

Glad my wife purchased AppleCare+ as I see sending these in often until they fix whatever is wrong with them. I did get me my replacements overnight. And they are phenomenal when working correctly.

Just an update (posted this in another thread as well), I listened to a new episode of the podcast and the noise was back, even with the new APP. I was listening to the podcast through the ESPN App. I decided to switch to another podcast app, and listened to the exact same podcast episode, and the noise was gone.

It appears my specific issue is either the App itself, or the iPhone having trouble with that App.

I just had a popping/static noise start on mine. Apple is replacing them; if they determine the issue is my fault somehow they'll charge me the AC+ exchange fee and count it as one of my replacements. Otherwise it will be free.

Yes, had my left AirPod Pro replaced under AppleCare 2 months ago for this issue. It would usually only occur during phone/conference calls but some music could reproduce it as well. Only occurred when the volume was 75% or higher. Sounded like a blown speaker.

Two months later, now my right AirPod Pro is doing the same thing.

I don't blast music often at all (usually only at mid volume) but do have several conference calls a day. Pretty sure there's some frequency on the calls that is blowing the speaker.

I just got my Pros yesterday. Had not experienced a problem (that I noticed) listening to music on my iPhone, but I started watching a Netflix movie on my iPad, and the clicks and pops are making it pretty much unwatchable. I popped in my wired in-ear monitor, and they sound great, so it’s not coming from the streaming. Music from my iPad was the same way. I connected the pods to my phone, and they worked fine. When I switched back to the movie on my iPad, it was OK. Not sure if this is the same problem being discussed here, but it sounds like it. Guess I’ll have to see if it continues, but unconnecting and reconnecting seemed to make it go away, at least for now.
