My AirPods Pro hurt my ears. A lot. They cause a lot of pain in the front side of my ear canal after about ten minutes of use. I wore the original AirPods almost daily since they came out and didn't have any discomfort, but now the AirPods pro have been hurting me.

I've tried all three sizes of ear tips but only the large ones work reliably with noise cancellation, and all three sizes cause the same discomfort.

Question is, should I try some of the overprices knock-off foam tips before I give up? Has anyone tried them? Are they more comfortable?

I love the AirPods Pro and want to be able to fully enjoy them.

You love them despite them causing you physical pain? Sounds like my last relationship ? But seriously, what is causing the pain? If it is in ear tips in general, foam ones may not resolve this for you.

That’s a decision for you to make. Everyone is going to have a different experience with third party foam tips. There’s only one way to find out what your experience will be like.

I just find it surprising that I can wear the urbeats all day without any problem. What's different about these?

And yes, I love the noise cancellation and the fact that it's sealed.

I would try the foam tips first, but the problem may be the noise cancellation. The pressure buildup may be what's causing you the problem. The fact that it's sealed can cause pressure to build up. There were quite a few threads on this when they first launched. Hopefully the tips will help, but I'm not optimistic for you.

That's an interesting thought. I wonder if the junky looking homemade foam tips are worth 33 bucks? I read some negative things about them a few weeks ago...

For something that goes in your ears, I would never risk using anything from an unknown eBay seller. Maybe if Comply sold them.

Mine are also causing discomfort. I'm bummed out because I sold my AirPod 2s that never caused discomfort before I tried my pros.... bad move.

I returned mine because they hurt. I spent 10 days trying to convince myself they would get better but I am much happier going back to the old design.

I don’t have outright pain from my APP but I don’t find them as comfortable as the regular AirPods. I’ve started wearing my old AirPods around the house and leave my AirPod Pros for when I travel, mow the lawn, or run. The new AirPod Pros really do sound much better so I could never return the Pros.

My pain is not in my ears but in my brain. I thought it was just me getting used to the ANC but I'ved tried using only transparency mode the past couple weeks and it still hurts. I'm leaning towards a return at this point.

I returned mine after experiencing significant ear pain and headache from it. APP’s shape is awful because it presses against your ear cartilage. Apple didn’t design this thing properly.

same here, pain in under an hour. Also the left one kept going lose and wanting to fall out of ear. Returned and am happy with the original AirPods. I sure did like the NC though. I use my Over ear sony for that.
