AirPods Pro with iMac and iPad Pro 2018

I’ve heard AirPods Pro touted with having seamless connection (is this because of the W1 chip?)

I have an iPhone 11 Pro, so I presume these benefits would come with, but would there be any connection issues on an iMac 2017 or iPad Pro 2018?

I currently use some non-Apple wireless earphones, which take a while to connect each time (and frequently disconnect) and the sound quality is poor (they crackle).

Have been using airpod pros with macbook pro and ipad, no problem. Also no problem with samsung phone.

I use mine with iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone XS Max, 2015 iMac, S4 Apple watch, 2019 MBP (iPhone 11/AW/MPB - every day depending on where I am) and have never had any problem at all.
