AirPods Pro

When on Music I can't connect to my AirPods Pro. I am instead given an error message. The AirPods Pro are connected to my 2020 MacBook Air and are working great on safari. I just updated to the latest beta of Big Sur. This issue has been present in all versions of Big Sur. Is anyone else having the same problem?

This upcoming firmware update is, like, the only thing I'm looking forward to about this fall.

same error here. airpods pro are on latest firmware as far as I know (2D27).

i know i'm at my own risk with the beta but it's maddening to have an error related to airpods.

tried full restart. fully unpaired airpods. turned bluetooth off and on. anything else anyone can think of?

Updated to the new public beta version today and still cannot keep my airpods connected. the error message has changed slightly since the last build. Beyond frustrated...have removed/forgotten the device, restarted blue tooth daemon in terminal. nada. they'll initially connect but the moment i try to make them the chosen output device they either disconnect immediately or throw that error message. insanity. ANY help madly appreciated.

@anza does the airpods work on other apps or do you only have the error with the music app?

I could resolve this issue finally with removing the additional audio plugins in the folder /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins.

I don’t know which of the following plugins caused the problem:
- /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/AppleAES3Audio.component
- /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL/DVCPROHDAudio.plugin
- /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL/InstantOn.driver (com.rogueamoeba.instanton-agent)
