For some reason, my AirPods Pros (1st Gen) will randomly crap out when connected to my M1 Mac Mini, and the sound will be overblown/distorted (like you're clipping all the meters in GarageBand). They NEVER do this with my iPhone, M1 MacBook Air, or iMac. Sometimes putting them back in the case and then back in my ears again will fix the issue--other times I have to "delete" them from my Mac Mini and then re-pair them. But the issue comes back again within minutes.

What on earth could be going on here? I'm assuming it's not the AirPods since they work flawlessly with all my other devices.

No one? Now I'm having another problem on my iMac. One AirPod will randomly be louder than the other and then later go back to being equally balanced . . . then back to imbalanced. I guess my AirPods are shot?

Had a similar issue a long time ago, fixed by changing input to internal mic instead of AirPods in Mac sound settings.

Hmm, that may be it. I'll see if it automatically switched the input source next time they do this. Very odd, though, how it doesn't happen consistently if that's the case.
