A few months back I got a pair of the Gen 2 AirPods with the wireless charging case. Since then I've had multiple issues with waking up and finding the right one dead. I went to the Apple Store and he updated the firmware. That didn't help. So I reached back out. Did the online chat this time and they're shipping me a new one. Now I just noticed the AirPod I'm expecting today claims to be "Gen 1 - Right".

Should I send that back? I purchased Gen 2 and I'm a little annoyed that I'm being sent the wrong one. I realize that they're essentially the same, but I don't know for sure that they're identical or can even work together correctly. They're 2-3 months old and I feel a little jerked around buying one thing and having it replaced with something else, regardless of how similar they are. They're expecting a Gen 1 AirPod in return, but I only have a Gen 2 to send back. This feels very wrong to me.

Any thoughts? Am I overreacting? Should I not accept this AirPod? Should I wait to see what's actually in the package first? I'm tempted to take the whole mess to an Apple Store and tell them I either walk out with a complete new working set or my money. This is starting to get annoying.
