Airpods question re: ending calls

Hey all,

Twice today I have docked my airpods to charge during a call and it has actually ended the call. Before it would just allow me to use the speakerphone or pick up the phone. Is this a feature? Is it my airpods? Was surprised when I docked them that it ended the call

no I have the opposite sometimes people cant hear me with them I take them out and go to speakerphone and they re connect. I have to dock them to keep them from re connecting.
