I was wondering how the two compare. I have a pair of Powerbeats 2 that I enjoy. Today they died and I put my lightning EarPods in. To me they sucked in comparison. I’ve read that the AirPods sound better than the EarPods, but I’ve never actually used them before. Can anyone comment on how the two compare? I don’t listen to bass heavy music but I do prefer the fuller sound of the beats. I also have an iPad, MacBook, and Apple Watch, so I think the AirPods would make switching between everything much easier, IF the sound is comparable to my Powerbeats 2.

If you don't like the EarPods, you won't like the Airpods. AirPods are awesome for all the nice features. The sound is OK but not great.

I've had AirPods for just over 2 years. The batteries are crapping out and I'm not about to drop another $160 on new ones. I guess I just turned a deaf ear to the sound quality of them because they are so convenient and work great.

That being said, I got a fairly inexpensive set of wired earbuds and the sound quality is leaps and bounds over the AirPods.

For the money, and the sound quality, I'll take the wire. But that's just me. :)

The Powerbeats make good gym headphones since they do a better job of blocking off outside noise and the wire is sometimes a plus since you can just hang them around your neck when not in use. Outside of the gym I prefer the AirPods for the ease and convenience though.
