Can some users shed some light on the quality differences between the regular Airpods and the Pro version? I currently have an inexpensive $25 over the ear set of headphones which are amazing in quality to be honest (Best Buy Insignia brand). However, I do like the earpods themselves. I want to know how the sound quality differs between the two, bass, treble, noise canceling, etc.

Do they sounds like studio quality to an extent?
Is the volume loud enough?
How is it having no wires - do you find they fall out easily? Let me know.

Regular sound like the pack-in buds, maybe slightly better. Pro sound far, far better. Still not great but ‘good’ to my ears.

I don’t think you should be expecting studio quality from Bluetooth buds of this size.

The volume is loud enough, for my ears.

No wires is liberating. It’s a whole new experience, built on convenience & portability, which most people have preferred over top-shelf audio quality. Not that the quality’s bad - it’s pretty good in fact. Bluetooth (& iPhones) just haven’t matured enough for HD audio, yet.

The fall out issue is subjective - it all depends on your ears, but the silicone tips increase the chances of you finding a good fit.

I have AirPods 1. Quality is a bit better than EarPods perhaps. Not audiophile grade. With niche audiophile wired earbuds you can have way better quality for under 10 bucks. With an American brand you could have better sound for under 50 bucks I guess, in wired.

If wired EarPods work well for you, regular AirPods will too. Neither fit my ears, so I can’t comment on sound quality.

AirPods Pro sound really good. Not amazing, but really good. I’ve had both the flagship Jabra and JayBird wireless buds, and these AirPods Pro sound on par or better, IMO. I haven’t tried the Sony, which are supposed to sound better.

For me
Airpods Pro are awesome because of the feature - sound is more spacial.
Airpods v1 sound better overall. Sound is much wider, fuller, less spacial as APP.

In the end it's a matter of taste mixed with ear shape/anatomy.

As of right now, the sound quality of AirPods Pro is pretty much superior to every wireless earbud on the market, but it's definitely not over-the-ear good.

I thought that at lower volume the regular AirPods sound better. With higher volume, the APP was a tiny bit better. I had so many issues with the APP falling out of my ears when running and I had to constantly reposition them, so I had to return them.

I’ve used way too many to count.

It is almost universally reviewed and accepted as fact that while the APPs are arguably better than the reg Airpods, they're lagging behind other earbuds when it comes to sound quality:

Sorry, I should have said "Best overall" ;-)

I am no expert but the Pro sound a lot better than the standard Airpods, that is probably due to the fact they fit much better in honesty.

Definitely from experience the AirPods Pro most definitely offer the best 'all round' experience for anyone using the Apple ecosystem.
Sound is very subjective and never believe the reviewers - often they have links with the manufacturers that they like OR are advertising clients. Having worked in radio, I've learnt this one very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another example were Atomic Floyd Super Darts earphones at £199. Much of the press loved them and claimed them to be the best on the market. Even Apple sold them - I bought a pair from the Apple Store and was incredibly disappointed. Uncomfortable due to the metal construction and lacking in bass for me even though the treble was sweet. I was 50/50 as to take them back and get a refund at the time. I kept them but never felt that they were worth the £199. More like £99 and to ad insult to injury, the kevlar cable wore around the headphone jack after 18 months of use. Sadly, they ended up in the bin.

A friend bought the SONY 1000 headphones and whilst the sound quality is nice and the noise cancellation excellent, to me they are as ugly as hell - no design just cheap plastic and the app was horrible to set up - 15 steps. Just horrible. Looking at other headphones in John Lewis the other week and I came to the conclusion that they all looked cheap and plasticky - even the Bowers & Wilkins PX looked plasticky. The B&O looked nice but didn't impress me sound wise and their reliability is known for being a disgrace with zero customer service.

So, for me, the AirPods Pro's are clear winner. They are everything that I want. Plus they work flawlessly with my Apple TV too. I love the design. The connectivity. The sound. The noise cancellation. The UI on my iPhone X etc. The charging in the lil case with decent battery life.

I really like the design compared to the weird ones that I see which look like black snails in people's ears. There's a reason why Apple sold 60 million pairs in 2019 and whether account for 71% of all headphones sales worldwide. They are just damn decent - a great, worry free, stress free all rounder and if you are a busy people with an active lifestyle, all of those things really really matter!

HUGE difference.

Yes, taking into account portability, ease of use, looks and comfort, I agree it is the best overall. =)
