Airpods with Credit Card extended protection for battery life?

I'd like to buy a pair of airpods. I'm wondering if applecare/square/other warranty would be better than my Sapphire Reserve's double warranty? It would make it 2 years which is around when I've heard degradation happens. I'm just curious if anyone's ever used their warranty on their airpods in relation to battery life before?

After two years of regular use my Gen 1 AirPods still charged to 97%.
