Hey all,
I've had an ongoing issue with my AirPods I wanted to post about to see if anyone has had similar issues, and possibly if you ever found a resolution.
I have AirPods that I connect to my iPhone 6S, Apple Watch Series 2, and an iPad. The AirPods connect between my phone and iPad with no issue. The problem is, they don't always connect to my watch automatically like they are suppose to when they are connected to my phone.
I observe this by looking at the battery indicator on my watch, where when the Pods are not connected, they aren't shown along with the watch's battery percent. Even when I try to force connect to them via the AirPlay option on the watch, they will say the AirPods are not in range or powered on. (Even when they are.)
The only fix I have found for this issue is to toggle the airplane mode of my watch off and back on, then the connection to the AirPods is restored. It also works if I toggle off the Bluetooth on my phone for a moment. The fix works for awhile, but it invariably will happen again. If I completely unpair the AirPods from everything and start again, that also fixed the issue...for awhile.
The AirPods are meant to auto-connect to your Watch along with your phone if you have both at pretty much all times correct?
I actually had this problem when I first got my AirPods in December, and even went as far as to send my Watch in to be looked at for defective Bluetooth or something, and they sent it back and said everything looks fine. (I should, my Watch to Phone connection never has an issue.) And again, my AirPods toggle between other devices, like my iPhone and iPad without issue.
Since the AirPods have been out a few months now, I wanted to post this and see if anyone has experienced any similar issues.
Thank you.
