Hi all,

First off all: I wish you all the best for 2017!

Yesterday and today I had my first two work-outs with my AirPods. Absolutely love being able to train without wires and/or bringing my iPhone 7plus with me!

But during my 5km run today I've started to sweat and I started to wonder how they would withstand sweat? How do you guys/girls use them during workouts and do you take special care of them áfter the workout?

All the best to you as well in 2017, OP.

I wouldn't be concerned with sweat at all. Just use them for runs as you have been, and if they get wet from sweat then give them a wipe-down afterwards.

I'm a fairly big sweater, but not in my ears.

So far, i've done a few gym workouts & a run whilst kicking the soccer ball around. The only sweat that's gotten close to the Airpods is from my hand, as i've tapped/adjusted them.

Not worried about sweat at this stage...

Tx for you're reply!
My main concern is about sweat coming into the top air hole/vent. If that should happen I can imagine the sweat makes contact with the electronics inside?

So you're sweat doesn't go from you're head over you're ears into you're ears/on the AirPods?

That's what happens when I sweat..

Nah. I sweat from my forehead down onto the front/sides of my face, but the 'waterfall' doesn't go as far back as my ears.

I might get a drip of sweat over my temple, down my cheek, but that's as close as it gets to my ears.

I don't worry about it. I used expensive Shure non-sweatproof buds before these. Sweated in them, wore them in wet conditions. No problem. Maybe if they got too wet they would cut out but once they dried they were back to business. Given the wet tests I've seen online with the AirPods I think they'll be fine for runs. I don't sweat in the winter so I'll have to wait until spring to test that theory, but unconcerned.

There was a YouTuber who put them through the wash and dryer and they came out fine. He even dunked them in water and left them for some time and they were fine. I think it'll be okay for the most part, but since sweat isn't pure water that's the only concern I would have.

It's designed around environmental concerns. Personally I would use AirPods for a run without a second thought.

If you work out hard and sweet don’t Buy these AirPods they will not hold up after 2 workouts my right AirPod quit working.
So until Apple makes them water proof I would not recommend anyone buy them.
