Hi folks,

I have a first gen pair of Airpods. My problem is that while they work for telephone functions with my iphone 7 plus, they will not play sounds or music from any other apps. They won't play music, books, youtube, etc. I have disconnected, reconnected, reset them and made sure the system-wide volume level is off. And they work fine with my iMac which makes me think it's something with my iphone.

My ipone's software is also up to date.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

This might be a stupid question (if it is, I’m sorry), but have you tried “forgetting” them, checking the firmware on the AirPods, resetting the phone, or trying to use them while they’re disconnected from the Mac? Mine sometimes tries to connect to my phone and Mac at the same time and screw up.

Yes, I did try forgetting them and reconnecting. But I just solved the problem. Turns out the volume level on the Music app was turned all the way down. I turned it up and not only the Music app could be heard through my Airpods, but I could hear all ther apps as well!
