Hey guys! I recently dropped my powerbook g4 and I think it broke my airport card since my mac could no longer detect it. I'm wondering how i can change the computers airport card without costing me a fortune. I purchased a minu usb wireless adapter from Fry's yesterday but it's really not working that well. Is there any advice you can give me? will it be better to change the card ( if there is one built in the computer) or just purchase a usb wireless adapter? Thanks for the help!

Well, the first thing I would do is check to see if the card is still seated properly. iFixit has great guides to show you how to get at the Airport card. If it appears to be seated correctly and still doesn't work, I might try to get my hands on a working Airport card to see if that one will work. That will tell you if it's your card or something more difficult to address.

If it's one of the Powerbook G4's mentioned in this Apple doc, you might be able to replace it relatively easily (provided you can find one...).
Worth checking in case the drop has merely dislodged the card - it might only be a matter of pushing it back into place :)

airport cards are one of the most simple repairs you can do yourself too, shouldn't be a problem with a good guide.
