I've scoured the forums but have not been able to get a definitive answer. I have an ATV, which I have put all of my music on. I'd like to be able to get an Airport Express and connect it to my stereo in my garage where my pool table is. I do not want to have my laptop turned on....just the ATV streaming through both my living room system and the garage. Is this possible?

i dont think so. i havent ever though about that, it seems like a good idea, but i dont think there is any way to control airtunes speakers from the appletv.

I don't know if it's possible to hack the ATV to do this, but I'm sure it won't work out of the box that way.

However, all is not lost. There are wireless systems out there that you could connect to the analog outputs from the ATV and pipe sound into your garage. For instance, this product from x10 would do the job if you had a system to plug it into (you'd also need something to plug the Airport Express into):

If you don't have any amp/speakers in your garage, you could get a wireless system that plugged into the ATV and transmitted to your garage.
