AirPort Express, No Airport Card, Microsoft Router, HELP

Ok I just got an airport express, I have an older graphite G4 and I have been using a microsoft wireless basestation (i know, i know). I got this type of router b/c it "works best with xbox," ok i know i fell for it.

All has been working fine, and I have no airport card. I got my airport express today mainly just to play music in my house. I figured it would work like my wireless xbox reciever, just hook it up and my wireless router would recognize it, well no dice. Nothing. Called up Apple, they said i needed an airport card. Is there anyway I can do this without an airport card???

A base station is a wirless router. You all ready have a wireless router. Sadly, two wirless routers can't wirelessly transfer data between one another. You need an airport card to pick up the signal from the router not a base station.

Aiport Express works like a charm when using a standard wired router. I set up up yesterday. Phenomenal.

If I'm reading you correctly, you want to use the Microsoft wireless router as the main router. The X-Box and G4 are connected to the MSFT router. You want to add the AirExp to play music. You do not have wireless on the G4.

What you need to do is set up the AirExp to work in "Client Mode". But the catch is that you need to log into the AirExp to switch the mode. For that, I think you need an Airport enabled Mac (or wireless PC). But the first thing I'd try would be connecting the Mac to the AirExp with an ethernet cable. Then run the Airport Assistant to set up the AirExp to client mode.
