iPod Airport Express question.

Hi all,

Im looking at getting my pad fully wireless and have been looking at Express to send my itunes around the house.

I understand that my pbook can 'beam' my tunes to the Express module that is connected to my sound system in another room so i can listen to them independent of my pbook.

BUT...my question is this:

I have a sound sytem in my TV room bedroom and a small one in the kitchen. (3) Is it therefore possible for me to buy 3 seperate Express units and have my Powerbook beam the same tunes at the same time to each of the three Express units (connected to the sound systems)?

this is so i can walk from room to room always hearing my tunes (the same tunes!).

Any feedback would be great guys thx.

It's my understanding that from iTunes, you select the one station you want to send the music to, as each will have its own IP. I'm pretty sure the technology limits it in that way. However, if you're *always* going to be listening everywhere, you could use the money to get one AE and then wireless speakers for the other spots (or wired speakers that could hook up to X10 controllers and then get that app (can't think of the name) that lets you control and program X10 devices from your Mac).

i don't think airport express is advanced enough for what you want. it should be updated soon, though.

but if you're anxious (and want to spend a lot of money) you should check out Sonos (www.sonos.com). i don't think it's protected-AAC compatible yet, but that's probably going to be included in the next revision

Cheers for the quick responses guys. For the moment Im gonna make do with one Express unit and maybe hook it up to a sound system with wireless speaker until other tech catches up.

Very true but the thing is that one of my systems is upstarirs and the other two are downstairs so Id have to drag long cables from upstairs to downstairs and kinda defeats my object of wireless.

I would consider it if all three were downstairs...in fact i might just ditch the upstairs one and stick with the two systems downstairs. Cheers, good one.
