Airport Express

Because I'm getting sick of the whole 2wire Kernel Panic business with airport, I was wondering if getting Airport Express will solve this problem. Has anyone switched routers and found it to work?

Do you guys recommend Airport Express? What other routers work well with the 10.4.10 update?

I had a 39 netgear wireless router working on it without a problem (gave that one to the parents, after i moved) and i'm now currently using the airport extreme without any kernel panics... matter of fact haven't had any since i got this mbp june 5th... *knocks on wood*

Anyone else? Is it worth the 100 dollars? I've stopped getting Kernel Panics ever since switching to 10.4.9. But my internet is running extremely slow and still drops out frequently.

I'm not sure what you're asking, but if you think the problems will go away with express...don't think they won't.

The problem isn't the router, it's just the Airport card and it's drivers. Also the 10.4.10 update has a problem with Airport (Apple is aware of this problem and is working a fix for it). 10.4.10.1 update fixes this problem for some users but many are still having problems with wireless networks.

So probably Express won't fix the problem, because the problem is with 10.4.10 update, but if you're using 4.9 so i'll think you'll be fine with any router.

I'll use the Extreme Base Station and haven't got any problems after i run the 10.4.10 Combo update (had the airport issue with the update coming from Software Update)
