Airport Extreme (Dome ver) streaming music?

I noticed my parents had this older aiport extreme just sitting, so I took it to use in my old place. Am I able to use it to stream music to my sound system?

I'd want it in the living room (which has no internet), streaming music from my room (has internet). I was hoping it could receive the music wirelessly without being jacked in with a CT5. If not, I guess my best bet would be to get apple TV, or the new airport?

If the AE can hook into your wireless network, assuming you have wireless, then yeah, you can stream to it.

No need to hardwire it as long as it can hook into the wireless network.

The extreme has no audio out capability only the airport express has this. It will not do what i think you are trying to achieve.
