Hello everyone,

I wanted to see if any advice on this one? Maybe I'm doing this wrong... :p

I have a Linksys WRT3200 router at one end of the house and looking to extend the network more in the other end. I've done a factory reset on the Airport Extreme (2013 Model with AC network support) and want it to join the existing network.

So I use Airport Utility to do this but it keeps wanting to create a network, not join a existing one. I'm clicking on other options in the setup tab and click on join existing network - the next window is the create network tab.... It's driving me nuts but maybe I'm missing a step here?

Thank you for any advice!

Have you changed the "router mode" to "off (bridge mode)"? It's located in the Network tab. Otherwise, my guess would be that the "join an existing network" is a feature designed for if your original router is also an Airport or Airport Extreme.

But the other question is, how are you connecting the two routers? What I mentioned above should work if you've wired the two together via ethernet. If you're trying to use the Airport Extreme as a wifi repeater/extender, then the settings might be a bit different, and I'd wonder if the Airport might be too far to see the Linksys' wireless network.
